March On: RUSTIN is a collaboration between the Trust for the National Mall and Netflix's RUSTIN, providing listeners with an opportunity to walk in the footsteps of the 1963 March On Washington for Jobs and Freedom, which cemented the National Mall's role as America’s Civic Stage. As you stand at the starting point for the March, learn about the crucial role of organizers and Bayard Rustin in the making of the March on Washington, which united more than 250,000 in Washington to support Civil Rights.
STOP 2: Out of a Mountain of Despair, a Stone of Hope
As you stand on the Lincoln Plaza, the main stage for the March, hear excerpts of speeches and quotes from attendees. Reflecting on what it was like to be there as history was made on America’s Civic Stage.
